pgEd’s co-founder and affiliate Dr. Jack Bateman has been awarded the National Science Foundation’s CAREER award in the amount of $797,395 in support of his genetics and education program at Bowdoin College. The details of the grant and Jack’s research project, “Mechanisms of cis-/trans-promoter competition in Drosophila” are featured in a recent article in the Bowdoin Daily Sun. Next year, Jack will be teaching a college-level, writing intensive course on personal genetics at Bowdoin. We look forward to hearing more about it!
