pgEd’s Dana Waring is looking forward to returning to Connecticut for the second year of the Teaching the Genome Generation course for high school STEM teachers, organized by the Jackson Laboratory. This hands-on course will focus on modern Genomic Biology and will cover 1) Molecular Biology Techniques in the Laboratory, 2) Use of Bioinformatics and Genome Databases, and 3) Social, Ethical, and Legal Topics in Personal Genetics. Dana will be teaching the social, ethical and legal dimensions of the course, which is supported by a Science Education Partnership Award from the National Institutes of Health.
